THEMATIC QUARTER 4

                            HIGH SCHOOL DAY  Ugh, that rooster.  Seriously, 5 AM?  My dream about endless lechon was brutally interrupted.  Breakfast was a rushed affair – a couple of pan de sal, a smear of kesong puti, and a gulp of water.  Finding my books was like searching for buried treasure; they were usually hidden under a pile of crumpled papers and forgotten assignments.  The tricycle ride was a little less chaotic than the jeepney, but still an adventure –  a bumpy ride through the streets, the smell of exhaust fumes mixing with the sweet scent of mangoes from a nearby fruit stand.  School hallways?  A human river, a constant jostle of students, teachers, and the ever-watchful security guards.   Classes were… classes.  Math was a constant battle, but Filipino and history were awesome – a real connection to my roots.  Art class was my escape, a chanc...
